It was a busy night for officers in Charlotte overnight Thursday, August 28, 2014 as Officers responded to two separate shootings and one violent home invasion.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say shots were fired into an apartment building on Griers Grove Road in north Charlotte. One person was struck in their side and is in the hospital with life threatening injuries. Another person was injured by shattered glass. There were five kids and four adults inside the unit, and officials say none of the kids sustained injuries.
Just a short distance away, officers responded to a violent home invasion on Hudson Graham Lane. Authorities say two men broke into the residence and badly beat the homeowner.
Shortly after midnight, police responded to another shooting in the 5700 block of Eastbrook Road in east Charlotte. One person was taken to the hospital with potentially life threatening injuries.
