CMPD Finds, Arrests Rape Suspect Who Cut-Off Electronic Monitoring Device on May 3, 2014

Charlotte Mecklenburg Police arrested rape suspect Eddie Stokley on Monday evening, May 5, 2014. They say he cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet on Saturday, May 3, 2014 and escaped house arrest.

He faces several sexual assault charges including indecent liberties with a child and first degree rape.

A police report says the victim was walking alone when Stokley and another man kidnapped and raped her at gunpoint.

It allegedly happened in 2007, when the victim was 14 years- old.

Stokley has a 2006 conviction for assault on a female.
