CMPD Searching for Man Who Cut Off his Electric Monitoring Device on January 30, 2014

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are on the lookout for a man who cut off his electronic monitoring device.

Police said Kevin Lee Sims is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team  on outstanding warrants for possession of firearm by felon, Damage to property and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

On Thursday, January 30, 2014  Sims cut off his electronic monitor and was last seen at South Boulevard near E. Park Avenue.

Sims posted a $25,000 secure bond and was Court ordered to wear a CMPD electronic monitor as a condition of his release from jail.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kevin Sims should immediately contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) at (704)336-VCAT or call 911.
