The district attorney offered Flores a plea deal of two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle, which would mean two consecutive 60-day sentences.

Flores will now go to trial to face charges of involuntary manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of inflicting serious injury, and felony hit-and-run.

If he is found guilty, he could spend more than eight years in prison.

Police said speeding was involved in the Sept. 18 accident which killed Shanquise Bush and a 3-year-old boy in her car, police said.

Witnesses said they saw Flores’ white pickup move into Bush’s lane and she overcorrected, slamming into a power pole.
