Charlotte City Leaders to Launch New 911 System

Wednesday, Charlotte city leaders will launch a new 911 system to alert people during an emergency.

The system will send out messages for situations such as flooding, street closures or hazmat incidents.

People will be able to sign up to receive alerts on their cellphones.
