Police said the gunman who terrorized a young mother and her child at a Charlotte ATM is only 15 years old.
A woman visiting a local bank recognized the suspect today and immediately called police.
She said she was on alert after watching Channel 9’s report last week.
She came to the same ATM this morning when she noticed someone in the bushes. She called police and they arrested the suspect.
The mother robbed last week said she barely slept since the attack.
Now, she said she feels safer and hopes she can sleep at night.
She said the incident changed her and now she is nervous all the time and not comfortable outside her home.
Police are not releasing the suspect’s name because he is a minor and have not said if he will be charged as an adult.

Police are hoping someone can help identify the gunman who terrorized a young mother and her 2-year-old daughter at an ATM in east Charlotte Monday morning.
The man approached the woman with a gun as she pulled up to an ATM at the Wells Fargo branch on Albemarle Road just after 8 a.m., according to police.
“He said give me everything you have, and I said ‘I don’t have nothing,'” the woman, who did not want to be identified, told Eyewitness News.
She said the suspect, wearing a hoodie, told her to give him cash, but when she said she didn’t have any, he told her to write a check.
“He told me to do the check for $2,000 and I tried to write it but I couldn’t,” she said.
She described how the gunman threatened to hurt her daughter if she didn’t give him what he wanted.
“I was thinking of my baby. Him not to take it. I don’t know what this guy is thinking in his head,” she said.
He finally grabbed her checkbook and ran when some landscapers came to begin work at the bank.
Police describe the man as young, wearing a black hoodie and bright red shoes.
The victim said she never did see his face.
