CMPD Investigating a Stabbing Death in Southwest Charlotte

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are conducting a death investigation after a man died from an apparent stab wound.

Steele Creek Division patrol officers responded to a call for service in the 13300 block of York Center Drive just before 6 a.m. Sunday. Officers found a man suffering from a stab wound.

He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville, where he was pronounced deceased.  The victim’s name has not been released yet.

A suspect remained at the scene and voluntarily went to CMPD headquarters to be interviewed.

Detectives believe the suspect and victim knew each other.

Police are currently looking for witnesses to the incident. They’re asking anyone with information to call 704-432-8477 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
