CMPD, Dallas, NC, Fort Mill, SC Police Looking Into Possible Connection of 5 Convenience Store Robberies

From http://www.wsoctv.com, October 10, 2013 by Greg Suskin

Investigators in Charlotte and Fort Mill think five overnight robberies are most likely linked, even though they cover a wide area.

Police in Charlotte said the first was at a Circle-K at the corner of The Plaza and Harris Boulevard around 12:45 a.m. Thursday.

The next robbery was around 3 a.m. on Brookshire Boulevard near Hovis Road.

Another robbery was 40 minutes later on Mount Holly Huntersville Road and Harris Boulevard. A fifth place in Dallas, a Family Dollar, was robbed earlier in the night.

The manager of the Circle K on the Plaza described the robbers as two kids.

Police said two or three robbers were in a truck. Victims reported seeing a small red pickup truck leaving the scene and Channel 9 was told the truck has been found. Descriptions of the robbers seemed to match up, according to police. Police said they are looking for a black man and a Hispanic man, both with guns.

There is no word on any arrests.

CMPD is working with investigators in York County to figure out if these robberies are connected to two similar ones that took place there Thursday morning.

The Exxon gas station off of Carowinds Boulevard was robbed around 2 a.m. Thursday.

The manager of the Circle K said he gave the police good surveillance video of the crime, but it has not been released.
