From The Charlotte Observer By Joe Marusak, October 7, 2013

A woman remained hospitalized in critical condition Monday after a triple shooting on Filbert Lane early Friday in which her sister-in-law was killed.

Marcia Marie Winningham, a 43-year-old social worker counselor, was shot in her home and died later at Carolinas Medical Center.

Raemona Winningham, her sister-in-law, remained in critical condition at the hospital Monday. Raemona Winningham’s husband, Anthony Obee, 51, also was shot at the home and has since been discharged from the hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Police on Friday arrested Marcia Winningham’s estranged husband, David Mark Fields, 44. Marcia Winningham had planned to file legal separation papers against Fields last week, her mother in Islip, N.Y., told the Observer.

Virginia State Police stopped a vehicle driven by Fields later Friday near Richmond, Va. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police detectives had obtained a warrant for his arrest in Winningham’s death.

Police said Fields will be charged with murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
