Suspects Sought in 2 Charlotte Shootings that Injured 4 Men

From The Charlotte Observer By Elisabeth Arriero, October 29, 2012

Charlotte police continued to look for suspects Sunday in connection with two separate shootings that left four people injured Saturday night.

About 7 p.m., Michael Hamilton, 24, was shot in the back near 6220 Sunstone Drive, near Statesville Road in north Charlotte, police said. Hamilton did not suffer life-threatening injuries, police said.

“This does not appear to be a random incident,” said Lt. Todd Lontz. “It looks like the suspect and victim possibly knew each other.”

Then, around 9:30 p.m., police responded to a report that three other victims were shot near 6325 Woodbend Drive, near Albemarle Road in east Charlotte.

Lontz said the three victims – who ranged in age from 22 to 32 – were approached by two people who demanded their money. One man was shot in his upper leg. Another was shot in the arm. The third man was shot in the hip and arm, police said.

Lontz said the wounds were not life-threatening, and the suspects left on foot.

Anyone with information on these two shootings is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
