Mint Hill police are asking for the public’s help in catching a man who allegedly took photos of a young girl while she was playing near her home Sunday afternoon.

Investigators suspect the case is related two a pair of reports last month of a man photographing girls in their Mint Hill neighborhoods.

Sunday’s incident happened about 4:30 p.m. on Atchinson Drive, in a neighborhood off Lawyers Road. An 8-year-old girl told her mother than a man sitting in the passenger seat of a pickup truck tried taking photos of her while she was playing in the snow.

Another man was driving the truck, the girl said. The suspect taking the photos was described as a white male, between 40 and 50 years old, with a beard and black hair with some gray in it.

A man fitting the same description was reported to have tried talking a 6-year-old girl into getting into his truck Nov. 19, about 2 miles from the scene of Sunday’s incident. And on Nov. 22, several young girls told police a man took photos of them while they were playing. In all three cases, the person of interest was driving a red pickup truck with rust spots.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Mint Hill police, 704-889-2231.
