Extension to link Stonehaven’s Thermal Road to Monroe Road Business Park

Within two months, drivers entering or exiting the McAlpine Business Park, 8300 Monroe Road, will have additional options. Levine Properties is working on a realignment of McAlpine Park Drive, which, once completed, will connect Thermal and Monroe roads. A traffic signal also will be installed at the Monroe Road intersection. That’s good news for business park users as well as Stonehaven and Medearis residents.

“It’s just additional infrastructure to help the business park,” Levine Properties President Daniel Levine said. “We’ve completed the grading and now that the weather has changed, we can get sidewalks and other landscaping installed.”

The new road will allow more accessibility into the business park from Monroe Road, Levine said, noting drivers will no longer have to cross traffic on their own thanks to the soon-to-be installed traffic signal.

Working alongside the Charlotte Department of Transportation, the company expects to have the road completed within 12 weeks, said Levine. Once the roads are linked, CDOT will assist Levine by installing the traffic signal at the Monroe Road intersection.
